Musical entertainment from 5pm - 10pm on Friday night including the J'Ouvert Steel Drum Band and on Saturday with Darren Rhodes and Sam's Revenge. Activities include a yard sale, local and regional art, crafts and jewelry for sale and a silent auction - bid on beach vacations, sports memorabilia, gourmet gift baskets and more! The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest fund-raising event. Walk day is a fun, family-oriented celebration that includes a healthy 5 kilometer (3.1 miles) walk, Kids’ Corner activities, food, and festivities that participants look forward to year after year. 5K Acts Metro: Harbison West Elementary School
The Acts Metro Going the Extra Mile 5k is an annual US Track & Field certified 5K run/walk held in Irmo on May 19th at 8:30 AM. The race begins at Harbison West Elementary School, and takes runners and walkers through scenic Quail Valley. The course has rolling hills, lots of shade and great views. This 5K is the primary fundraiser for Acts Metro, helping families in need.

Mud Mania: Seven Oaks Park

Kids are challenged to climb, crawl, jump and slide their way through seven wet and very mucky obstacles! This FREE event includes: Mud Mania Obstacle Course (ages 7–13); Mini Mud Obstacle Course (ages 6 & under and children with disabilities ages 13 & under); and a Giant Sand Castle Area. This weekend brings Blues Traveler to the stage, now in its 25th year of belting out the blues with a jammin' rock punch. Just released "Suzie Cracks the Whip" and a 25 year introspective CD, the band keeps on rollin' out the new, yet knows its' fans love the old stuff too. Sculpture in the South: Summerville's Azalea Park

A one-of-a-kind event offering collectors and first time art enthusiasts a chance to explore Summerville’s Permanent Art Collection, and to view and purchase works by twenty-five leading sculptors. You’ll meet the men and women behind the artwork, and learn first-hand the thought behind each piece and the process to create it. The show is open 10-6 on Saturday, May 18th, and 10-5 on Sunday, May 20th. Tickets are $5 - Children admitted free with a paying adult. The Literary Vine at RCPL: Main Library Downtown

Join the Friends of RCPL from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. for The Literary Vine, an evening of wine, beer, food and entertainment. Spread throughout the architecturally stunning Main Library located on the corner of Assembly and Hampton Streets, the event will use the entire layout of the library, offering guests (ages 21 and older) a variety of different stops as they sample and learn about wine and beer. Alcorn Middle School wants to revolutionize the health of families in the Midlands by showing them how to eat healthier, exercise and grow their own vegetables together! Families are invited to Food Revolution Day, Saturday May 19, 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Alcorn Middle School, 5125 Fairfield Road. The ultimate goal of this event is to fight obesity by changing the health and habits of the entire family. The day of fun and learning includes a free healthy meal, family exercise routines, and square-foot gardening. Participants will learn how to whip up healthier meals and one lucky family will win a three-day vacation to Myrtle Beach. The event is free and open to the public, but families must register.
